Delayed April showers, festival season or just a good old British summer… plenty of reasons why you can’t do without a super stylish rain cape for the coming season, we say!

You will learn how to work from a pattern and sew in a zip.
The pattern has playful features such as pleat tabs and can be accessorized with vintage buttons.
We love how the lining plays with the outer shell of the garment when worn!

Sewing machine; intermediate skill level required.

Tutor: Francine Schokker

Required materials:

1m x 1.60m PVC coated cotton or linen (you can make this from fabric too, if you don’t need it to be water proof)
1m x 1.60m water resistant polyester (fabric shower curtain will do!) or light-weight cotton
75cm chunky plastic zip
Matching or contrasting polyester sewing thread

We used John Lewis’ Lino fabric for our rain cape.
You can find this mega polkadot fabric at IKEA, which is suitable too, for example.

Or, you can purchase your waterproof material from us by midday Friday 26th April.
First 3 rows are £10 p/m and the last row is £15 p/m
We also have some waterproof lining available for £7 p/m in a wide range of colours (see second photo)
